ASHPERTON, Herefordshire - Extract from National Gazetteer, 1868

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer (1868)]
"ASHPERTON, a chapelry and parish in the hundred of Rudlow, in the county of Hereford, 5 miles to the N.W. of Ledbury. The river Frome runs a little to the north of the parish. The living is a perpetual curacy annexed to the vicarage of Stretton-Grandison, in the diocese of Hereford. The chapel is dedicated to St. Bartholomew. There are charities amounting to £54 per annum. Here was the ancient seat of the Grandisons."
