BURRINGTON, Herefordshire - Extract from National Gazetteer, 1868

"BURRINGTON, a parish in the hundred of Wigmore, in the county of Hereford, 4 miles to the S.W. of Ludlow. Leintwardine, in the county of Salop, is its post town. It is situated on the banks of the river Teme, at a short distance from the Shrewsbury and Hereford railway. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Hereford, value £146, in the patronage of the lord chancellor. The church is dedicated to St. George."
