"DEVEREUX (ST.), a parish in the hundred of WEBTREE, county of HEREFORD, 7 miles (S.W.) from Hereford, containing, with the hamlet of Didley, 208 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Hereford, rated in the king's books at £6. 15. 7., and in the patronage of Edward Bolton Clive, Esq."
