"CALDECOTE, a parish in the hundred of NORMANCROSS, county of HUNTINGDON, 1½ mile (W. S.W.) from Stilton, containing 51 inhabitants.. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Huntingdon, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £7.3. 6., and in the patronage of James Kelwell, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene. In 1769, the Rev. James Oram bequeathed £250, directing the interest to be applied in supporting a school for girls."
