"HINCHINGBROOK, (Huntingdonshire) a m. from Huntingdon, had a nunnery built and endowed by William the Conqueror; and the Cromwell's family had a seat here, called Hinchingbrook-House, which now bel. to the Earl of Sandwich, who from hence takes his title of Visc. In this house is one of the most magnificent rooms that is to be seen in England."
