"SWINESHEAD, a parish in the hundred of LEIGHTONSTONE, county of HUNTINGDON, though locally in the hundred of Stodden, county of Bedford, 3 miles (S. W. byW.) from Kimbolton, containing 245 inhabit- ants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Huntingdon, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £12. 13. 6., and in the patronage of the Duke of Manchester. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas."
