AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF THE REV. WILLIAM GILL ========================================================================== The following names are indexed from the : Autobiography of the Rev. William Gill William Gill was a devout Christian born in Devon 14/1/1813 at Totnes. His mother was a Bartlett from the Devon village of Harberton. Most of this autobiography deals with Gill's life as a missionary in the Pacific. This index relates to periods in England at the beginning and end of the book. The index is really quite short, but has a little bonus in including the names of 28 workmen employed in building a new church in the Woolwich district in the 1850s. The book as published is described as selections from Gill's autobiography. Indexed by Mike Foster, Wellington, 1993 The book is held by Wellington Public Library. ========================================================================== ALLEN George Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 ARUNDEL Revd John Secy of London Missionary Society 1835 21 AVELING Revd Thomas Readings/prayer at Ebenezer 1859 296 BELAMY P At celebration dinner 1859 297 BETTS Revd R W At Ebenezer service 1859 302 BIRD Mr Builder of the new Ebenezer Chpl opened 1858 286 BISCOMBE Edward Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 BLOOMFIELD David Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 BONNEY Charles Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 BOYLEN Mr Chosen deacon at Ebenezer, Wm St, W'wich 1852 284 BROWNE Gregory Organised celebration dinner at Wwich 1859 297 BUGG w Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 BUGG W jnr Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 BURNET Revd John Preached at the Barbican Chapel 11 BURRAGE Mr Friend of Wm Gill in Poplar, 1830s 19 BUTLER Michael Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 CALLIHAN James Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 CANN George Owned bldg next to new Ebenezer Chpl, W'wich 294 CARRICK Daniel Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 CECIL Revd Richd Tutor at Ldn Mission Society 1830s 29 CHARTER Revd M Aboard "Camden" with Gill>Pacific 1838 30 COLEGATE Richard Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 COLLINS John Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 CROSS W Workman, building Ebenezer Chpl Wwich 1858 296 CUNNINGTON C Member of Barbican Chapel 1830s 10 CUNNINGTON Elizabeth Barbican Chapel 1830s, m Hy Russell 1835 10 DADSWELL James New Sunday School in W'wich 1832;
