"BADLESMERE, a parish in the hundred of Faversham, lathe of Scray, in the county of Kent, 4 miles to the S. of Faversham, its post town. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury, of the value, with that of Leaveland annexed to it, of £323, in the patronage of Lord Sondes, who holds the manor. The church is dedicated to St. Leonard."
