"BIDBOROUGH, a parish in the hundred of Washlingstone, lathe of Aylesford, in the county of Kent, 2 miles to the S.W. of Tunbridge Wells, its post town. Hops are cultivated here, and there are several mineral springs. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury, of the value of £227, in the patronage of Mrs. Deacon. The church has a Norman entrance, and is dedicated to St. Lawrence. A charitable bequest for the benefit of the poor produces about £23 per annum."
