"BROOK, a parish in the hundred of Chart and Longbridge, extending also into the hundred of Wye, in the lathe of Scray, and county of Kent, 4 miles to the E. of Ashford. It lies near the South-Eastern railway, on which Ashford is a station. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury, worth £171, in the gift of the dean and chapter. The church is dedicated to St. Mary."
