"FAWKHAM (or FACOMBE), a parish in the hundred of Axton, lathe of Sutton-at-Hone, county Kent, 5 miles S.E. of Dartford, its post town, and 5 S.W. of Gravesend. The Meopham station on the London, Chatham, and Dover railway is 3 miles E. of the village. It includes the hamlet of Fawkham Green. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Rochester, value £252. The church is dedicated to St. Mary."
