Church History

The Salvation Army originally began operations in Barrow during Jan. 1881, meeting initially in premises in Preston Street and later in the Royal Amphitheatre, Duke Street. The new citadel: foundation stone is dated 5 Feb. 1910, and it opened on 20 August 1910.
