Cemeteries
The church has a graveyard at its original location up the valley (see maps).Church History
It was founded in 1867 and closed in 1986.St Stephens Church, Mission Hall was built in 1910 and opened in 1911 by the parishoners of St Stephen's who had been moved from Grane Village nearer to Haslingden and felt the need to have a more convenient place of worship. The Mission room then became the centre of Church life with services held in the upper room whilst the lower floor was used as a sunday school, a men's institute and a social centre for the area. In 1921 a piece of land was given for the building of a new church and it was at this time that they decided to move St Stephen's from further up the valley down to Holden Wood (Where today it is an antiques centre) During the 1970's the Mission Room was sold and became a factory until it was converted into a dwelling house in 1985.
See Haslingden Roots for more information about the removal of the church.
