Church History

The first service was held in the canteen of J. Bibby & Sons (Court Hey) on Sunday, August 23rd 1943.

In 1949 the church moved to the first Court Hey Church building, near the railway bridge on the other side of the main road. In 1958 a new church was built adjacent to the old building which was subsequently used as a church hall.

In 1966 Proposals for new M62 motorway means the church will have to be demolished. In 1973 the foundation stone was laid for new building which opened in 1974.
