Church History
It was founded in 1936.
Fr. James Routledge began a new parish from 10 Bluestone Road, Moston. Mass and other services were at first held in the cemetery chapel. Then a temporary church was put up and served until the magnificent new church was opened in 1936. The building of this church was Fr. Routledge's life-work. He died in 1945, and was succeeded by Fr. J. V. Murphy.Taken from "Salford Diocese and its Catholic past", a survey by Charles A. Bolton, a Priest of the above Diocese. Published 1950 on the First Centenary for the Diocese of Salford.
