Church History

It was founded in 1936.

Fr. James Routledge began a new parish from 10 Bluestone Road, Moston. Mass and other services were at first held in the cemetery chapel. Then a temporary church was put up and served until the magnificent new church was opened in 1936. The building of this church was Fr. Routledge's life-work. He died in 1945, and was succeeded by Fr. J. V. Murphy.

Taken from "Salford Diocese and its Catholic past", a survey by Charles A. Bolton, a Priest of the above Diocese. Published 1950 on the First Centenary for the Diocese of Salford.

This site provides historical information about churches, other places of worship and cemeteries. It has no connection with the churches themselves. For current information you should contact them directly.
