It was founded before 1936. Now served from St John's Chorlton.
Fr. Joseph McEnery was entrusted with the task of building up a new parish from districts formerly served by Chorlton and St. Alphonsus's parishes, as well as from Stretford. Beginning as a chapel of ease from St. Anne's, Stretford, the parish rapidly developed under the direction of Fr. McEnery, supported by many good Catholic families. A chapel and schools were built and a useful plot of land secured. When Fr. McEnery went to St. Joseph's, Blackburn, in 1936, Fr. Thomas Butler became parish priest. He has worked steadily to reduce the burden of debt. During the early years of the war he had the unpleasant experience of being bombed out.Taken from "Salford Diocese and its Catholic past", a survey by Charles A.
