Church History

It was founded in 1698 and the chapel was built in 1873. It closed in 1951. The building was auctioned in May 1952, being purchased for 550 by the Stainton Congregational Recreation Fund, for use as a community centre.

In 1972 the Congregational church joined with the English Presbyterian church to become the United Reformed Church.
