"FLECKNEY, a parish in Market-Harborough district, Leicester; on the Union canal, near the Kibworth station of the Leicester and Bedford railway, 7 miles NW of Market-Harborough. Post town, Kibworth-Harcourt, under Leicester. Acres, 1, 630. Real property, £2, 530. Pop., 581. Houses, 130. The property is much sub-divided. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough. Value, £155.* Patron, the Earl of Lovelace. The church is tolerable; and there is a Baptist chapel."

- The Anglican parish church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas.
- The date of construction is uncertain, but it appears to be early Norman.

- The Anglican parish register dates from 1638.
- The church is in the rural deanery of Gartree (second portion).
- The General Baptists built their chapel here in 1813.
- There was also a Strict Baptist chapel here in 1911.
- Civil Registration began in July, 1837.

Fleckney is a parish and a village in Leicestershire. The parish is 91 miles north of London, 8.5 miles southeast of Leicester city and 8.5 miles northwest of Market Harborough. The parish is bounded on the east by the Union Canal, part of which runs thru the Fleckney Tunnel into Saddington parish. The parish covers 1,270 acres.
