"BLATHERWYCKE, a parish in the hundred of Corby, in the county of Northampton, 6 miles to the N. of Oundle, This parish was formed by the union of two ancient parishes, about the middle of the 15th century. Part of it is included in Rockingham Forest. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, of the value of £394, lately in the patronage of Augustus Stafford, Esq. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity, and contains a monumental brass of Sir H. Stafford and his lady, of the year 1548. The other church, which was dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene, was long ago taken down. The parochial charities amount to £5 a year.
