"BLISWORTH, a parish in the hundred of Wymorsley, in the county of Northampton, 4 miles to the N.E. of Towcester, and 63 miles from London. It is a station on the main line of the London and North-Western railway, from which a branch line here runs to Northampton and Peterborough. The Grand Junction canal also passes through this parish, and is carried through a tunnel about 1,100 yards in length. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, of the value of £351, in the patronage of the Rev. W. Barry, incumbent. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist, and contains a monumental brass of the year 1503.
