"FURTHO, a parish in the hundred of Cleley, county Northampton, 2 miles N.W. of Stoney Stratford, its post town, and 7 S.E. of Towcester. It is situated on the old Roman road, Watling Street, and includes part of the hamlet of old Stratford. There is no village; only a few farmhouses. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, value £141, in the patronage of Jesus College, Oxford. The church is a stone edifice dedicated to St. Bartholomew.
