"WARKWORTH, a parish in the hundred of King's-Sutton, county Northampton, 2 miles E. of Banbury, its post town. It is situated on the river Cherwell, which separates this parish from that of Banbury, in Oxfordshire. The living is a curacy annexed to the vicarage of Marston St. Lawrence, in the diocese of Peterborough. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, has been thoroughly restored, and the interior contains several monuments and three brasses of the Chetwode family, bearing date from 1412.
