"CLIFTON-HAMPDEN, a parish in the hundred of Dorchester, in the county of Oxford, 3.5 miles E. of Abingdon, its post town. It is situated near the Thames. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Oxford, value £287, in the patronage of H. H. Gibbs, Esq. The church, dedicated to St. Michael, is a small building situated on a cliff, and has been recently restored. Here are National schools for both sexes."
