"HORN, a parish in the hundred of ALSTOE, county of RUTLAND, 6 miles (N.W. by W.) from Stamford, containing 10 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, united to the vicarage of Exton, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £1. 6. 8. Sir Gerard Noel, Bart. was patron in 1825. The church, which was dedicated to All Saints, is supposed to have been destroyed by Oliver Cromwell: the inhabitants resort to the church at Exton."  [Samuel Lewis A Topographical Dictionary of England (1831) ©Mel Lockie]
