The majority of London City records were
destroyed when the Guildhall was bombed. The District is Islington
Council. If you apply to this office you will probably receive a standard letter suggesting
you apply to Southport but also saying
that because you had applied to them first and the original certificate had been
destroyed Southport would supply the certificate for the local fee (which is
cheaper at £7.00 - April 2003).
