"BEDSTONE, a parish in the hundred of PURSLOW, county of SALOP, 4 miles (N.E.) from Knighton, containing 165 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Salop, and diocese of Hereford, rated in the king's books at £4. 13. 4., endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Benjamin Brown, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary."
