BRIDGNORTH, Shropshire

"BRIDGNORTH, a market town, parliamentary and municipal borough, comprising the two parishes of St. Mary Magdalene, and St. Leonard, and locally situated in the hundred of Stottesdon, in the county of Salop, 10 miles from Shiffnal railway station, 20 miles to the S.E. of Shrewsbury, and 139 miles to the N.W. of London. The railway from Shrewsbury, along the upper valley of the Severn, is now completed, and has a station at Bridgnorth."
