CHURCH PULVERBATCH, Shropshire

"CHURCH-PULVERBATCH, a parish in the hundred of Condover, in the county of Salop, 8 miles S.W. of Shrewsbury, and 6 N.W. of the Church Stretton railway station. This place, once a market town, is now only a small village. The parish contains the townships of Castle Pulverbatch, Cothorcott, Churton, Wilderley, and Wrentnall. There are traces of an ancient castle."
