HODNET: Geographical and Historical information from the year 1750.

"HODNET, (Salop) 116 cm. 135 mm. from London. It stands near the r. Tern, and was formerly inhabited by gentlemen of its name, from whom by the Ludlows it passed by inheritance to the Vernons. It was formerly held of the honour of Montgomery, by the service of being steward of that honour."
