"KINNERSLEY, a parish in the Newport division of the hundred of BRADFORD (South), county of SALOP, 4 miles (N. N. E.) from Wellington, containing 253 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Salop, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, rated in the king's books at £6.1. 8. Earl Gower was patron in 1816. The church is dedicated to St. Chad."
