SHIPTON: Geographical and Historical information from the year 1831.

"SHIPTON, a parish within the liberties of the borough of WENLOCK, county of SALOP, 7 miles (S. Wi by S.) from Much Wenlock, containing 126 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Salop, and diocese of Hereford. The church is dedicated to St. James. This was formerly a chapelry in the parish of Wenlock."
