"SUTTON, a parish within the liberties of the borough of Shrewsbury and hundred of Condover, county Salop, 2 miles S.E. of Shrewsbury, its post town. The village is situated on a branch of the river Severn. In the parish is a sulphurous spa. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Hereford, value £17.
