"WISTANSTOW, a parish in the hundred of Purslow, county Salop, 5 miles S.W. of Church-Stretton, and 10 N.W. of Ludlow. The village is situated near the river Onny, and includes Cheny Longville. The United Pack hounds meet here. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Hereford, value £800. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. There is a National school.
