It was founded in 1805 and a new Chapel opened on 1/Sep/1846. In 1851 Charles Hill (aged 30 born in Beccles) was the Baptist Minister and lived in Yaxley. He was living at Wetheringsett and still the Minister of Chapel in 1871 and 1881. By 1891 described as "Baptist Minister" and by 1901 as "Retired Baptist Minister" according to the census.
The General Baptists and Particular Baptists amalgamated in 1891.
