"BERROW, a parish in the hundred of Brent with Wrington, in the county of Somerset, 9 miles to the W. of Axbridge. Bridgwater is its post town. It" is pleasantly situated on the east coast of the Bristol Channel, a little to the south of Berrow Head. It has a fine sandy beach half a mile in breadth, and dry at low water. The living is a vicarage* in the diocese of Bath and Wells, of the value of £186, in the patronage of the Archdeacon of Wells. The church is dedicated to St. Mary."
