"BISHPORT, (or Bishopworth), a tything in the parish of Bedminster, hundred of Hartcliffe, in the county of Somerset, 2 miles from Bristol, its post town. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol, value £125, in the patronage of the vicar. The church is dedicated to St. Peter."
