"CLATWORTHY, a parish in the hundred of Williton, in the county of Somerset, 10 miles from Wellington station or the Great Western railway, and the same distance from Wiveliscombe. It is situated near the source of the river Tone. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £310, in the patronage of G. H. Carew, Esq. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is a fine structure in the decorated English style. The register commences in 1562. Here is a National school for both sexes.
