"CRICKET ST. THOMAS, a parish in the hundred of South Petherton, in the county of Somerset, 4 miles E. of Chard, its post town, and 5 W. of Crewkerne. The parish is of small extent, and contains only a few scattered houses. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £106, in the patronage of Lord Bridport. The church, dedicated to St. Thomas, is built of stone, consisting of nave, chancel, centre aisle, and tower. Lord Bridport is lord of the manor, and resides at Cricket Lodge."
