"EAST CHINNOCK, a parish in the hundred of Houndsborough, and union of Yeovil, in the county of Somerset, 3½ miles S.W. of Yeovil, and 7 from Ilchester. It is situated on the river Parret. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £140, in the patronage of the lord chancellor. The charities amount to £34 per annum."
