"HEATHFIELD, a parish in the hundred of Taunton, West division of county Somerset, 5 miles N.W. of Taunton. The village, which is small, and wholly agricultural, is situated near the line of the Bristol and Exeter railway. The tithes have been commuted for a rent-charge of £178. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £275. The church is an ancient structure dedicated to St. John the Baptist."
