"LUFTON, a parish in the hundred of Stone, county Somerset, 3 miles N.W. of Yeovil, its post town, and 4 S.E. of Ilchester. There is no village, and only four houses. The tithes have been commuted for a rent-charge of £102. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £107. The church, dedicated to SS. Peter and Paul, is a stone edifice of very small dimensions, and in various styles of architecture. J. Farquharson, Esq., is lord of the manor."
