"NORTH BARROW, a parish in the hundred of Catsash, in the county of Somerset, 8 miles to the N.E. of Ilchester. Castle Carey is its post town. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £148, in the patronage of Lord Portman. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas."
