"STOCKLINCH MAGDALEN, a parish in the hundred of Abdick, county Somerset, 2½ miles N.E. of Ilminster, its post town, and 7 W. of Martoch railway station on the Yeovil branch of the Bristol and Exeter railway. The village is situated on the Chard canal, near the river Isle. The inhabitants are chiefly engaged in agriculture. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £140.
