St Alban's ecclesiastical parish was formed in 1909 from part of Holy Trinity, Smethwick . The church, in St Alban's Road was consecrated in 1906.

Church History

The original St Alban's was a mission room to Holy Trinity in Silverton Road which was used from 1904, although a room in Dibble Road had been used for services from 1903. It was replaced by St Alban the Martyr church, which was built in 1905 on the corner of St Alban's Road and Devonshire Road. The church is a structure of red brick with stone dressings, in the Tudor style, designed by FT Beck of Wolverhampton, consisting of a chancel, aisled nave, western baptistry, and a west bellcot with one bell. A vestry was added in 1958.
