Wolverhampton Christ Church

Christ Church was formed into a separate ecclesiastical parish on 27th October, 1876. The church, in Waterloo Road, was erected in 1867.

Church History

Christ Church was built in 1867, in stone in the Early English Style, and consisted of a chancel, nave, aisles, organ chamber, and a bell-cote containing one bell. The aisles were added in 1869, the chancel in 1887, and a chapel and vestries in 1906.

The original registers for the period 1870-1971 (Bapts) & 1872-1967 (Mar) are deposited at Staffordshire Record Office.
