West Harnham

"WEST HARNHAM, a parish in the hundred of Cawden, county Wilts, 1 mile S.W. of Salisbury, its post town. It is situated near the river Avon, and is a small straggling village. The tithes were partly commuted for land and money payments under an Enclosure Act in 1783, and the remainder have been commuted for a rent-charge of £50. The living is a curacy annexed to the vicarage* of Coombe Bisset, in the diocese of Sarum. The church, dedicated to St. George, is an ancient brick and flint structure with a square tower. The parochial charities produce about £5 per annum."

Church Records

You can also perform a more selective search for churches in the West Harnham area that are recorded in the GENUKI church database. This will also help identify churches in nearby townships and/or parishes. You also have the option to see the location of the churches marked on a map.

If you keep this page loaded for a very long time and the database is updated since loading it, the church links above may become stale and may display the wrong church. If this happens, reloading this page will correct them.
