"CLIFTON-UPON-TEME, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of Doddingtree, in the county of Worcester, 9 miles N.W. of Worcester, and 9½ S.E. of Tenbury. It is situated on the cliffs near the river Teme, and was anciently a borough and market town. Part of the parish is in hop-grounds and orchards. The living is a vicarage* in the diocese of Hereford, value £172, in the patronage of Sir T. E. Winnington, Bart. The church, dedicated to St. Kenelm, is an ancient structure with tower and spire. The charities produce about £20 per annum. Here is a National school."
