EASTHAM, Worcestershire

"EASTHAM, a parish in the hundred of Doddingtree, county Worcester, 4 miles N.E. of Tenbury, its post town, and 18 N.W. of Worcester. It is situated on the river Tame, and contains the chapelries of Orleton, Hanley-Child, and Hanley-William. Hops are cultivated. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Hereford, value with that of Hanley William, and the curacies of Hanley-Child and Orleton annexed, £920, in the patronage of the Rev. H. Browne. The church, dedicated to SS. Peter and Paul, is a neat stone and brick structure, with tower containing four bells. There are chapels-of-ease at Child-Hanley and Orleton. Sir Thomas Winington and Sir Edward Blount are joint lords of the manor."
