"THROCKMORTON, a chapelry in the parish of Fladbury, middle division of Oswaldslow hundred, county Worcester, 4 miles N.E. of Pershore, its post town, and 2 from the Pershore station on the Oxford, Worcester, and Wolverhampton railway. The soil is clayey. This place gave name to the Throckmortons of Coughton. The living is a curacy annexed to the rectory of Fladbury, in the diocese of Worcester. The church is an ancient structure, with a tower and four bells; it was thoroughly restored and new roofed in 1833. Sir R. Throckmorton is lord of the manor."
